Jacketed metal gaskets — also known as double jacketed gaskets — deliver reliable sealing in aggressive chemical environments where standard gaskets fail. The soft filler material (graphite, PTFE, or ceramic) is fully enclosed in a metal jacket (stainless steel, Inconel, or Monel), protecting the filler from corrosive media, erosion, and high-pressure washout.
At Kaxite Sealing, a leading China jacketed gasket manufacturer since 2015, we engineer every jacketed metal gasket to ASME B16.20 and API 607 standards. Our double jacketed gaskets are trusted by procurement engineers and EPC contractors across chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and marine industries in over 60 countries.

Why Jacketed Gaskets? The metal jacket protects the soft filler from corrosive media, erosion, and blowout — making them ideal for aggressive chemical services, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels where gasket integrity is critical.
Metal jacket protects filler from aggressive chemicals and corrosive media.
Combines conformability of soft filler with strength of metal jacket for reliable sealing.
Ceramic or graphite filler handles extreme temperatures up to 1000°C.
Soft filler requires lower initial bolt load than solid metal gaskets.
A jacketed metal gasket (also called a double jacketed gasket) consists of a soft filler material — typically flexible graphite, PTFE, or ceramic — fully enclosed in a metal jacket made from stainless steel, Inconel, Monel, or other corrosion-resistant alloys. The jacket is designed with a flexible "Z" or "W" cross-section that allows the gasket to compress and conform to flange imperfections while maintaining a tight seal under pressure.
Unlike kammprofile or spiral wound gaskets, jacketed gaskets provide excellent corrosion resistance and are especially suitable for aggressive chemical services where the metal jacket protects the soft filler from chemical attack, erosion, and blowout.
Filler selection depends on service temperature and media.
